Fair board finalizes entertainment lineup; escape room to charge $5 per player

The Broadwater County Fair Board confirmed entertainment and vendor arrangements for the upcoming fair, including a new escape-room vendor and multiple food vendors.
Jessica, a staff member, presented the most current entertainment schedule. She said local act J Rock is confirmed and that Stoker will present a robotics demonstration Friday night as a joint 4-H–Stoker activity. Jessica noted the escape-room vendor will operate on Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from noon to 9 p.m.; games run on the hour, up to 10 players per session, and the vendor proposed charging $5 per player for attendees age 13 and older. Jessica said the last Friday game will start at 8 p.m. so the vendor can close by 9 p.m.
Board members discussed scheduling live music and other entertainment so it would not conflict with 4-H livestock shows. Members suggested placing small activities under the main tent or scheduling performances for Friday afternoon (3–5 p.m.) and Saturday early afternoon (1:30–3:30 p.m.) to avoid overlap with key 4-H events and the parade of beef at 5 p.m.
Sheila provided a vendor update, reporting four confirmed food vendors (including Mining City Mud, Penny’s On The Go and a new Belgrade-based southern Cajun cuisine vendor) and two commercial vendors, with three additional food vendors to contact. The board noted that vendor contracts are due in July and advised vendors to submit contracts early to secure indoor space.
The board also confirmed that sheep riding will return for Friday and Saturday of the fair and that the rodeo club will source sheep and oversee the event.
No formal votes were taken; board members asked staff to finalize scheduling details and communicate vendor contract deadlines.
