Commission approves small airport hangar rent increase; county airport construction to start May 19

The Broadwater County Commission on May 7 approved a recommendation from the airport board to raise hangar lease rates from 12 cents to 12.33 cents per square foot, effective July 1, 2025.
Commissioner Randolph told the commission the airport board approved the rate change at its April 16 meeting and recommended the county adopt it. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the increase by voice vote. County staff will send letters to hangar leaseholders and the county will include the new rate on invoices beginning in July.
Randolph also told the commission that construction work at the airport is scheduled to begin May 19. He said the work would increase traffic on the access road to and from the airport while construction is underway.
Commissioners indicated support for the airport board's recommendation and expressed confidence in the board's oversight of the project and lease adjustments.
