Monticello swears in new officials and confirms mayoral appointments

The mayor administered oaths of office to individuals identified in the meeting transcript, including Larry Stoner and Roni Dillon; those individuals recited the oath to support the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and to faithfully discharge the duties of their offices. Council members were then presented with the mayor's appointments for confirmation.
The mayor nominated Jody Stone to a five-year term on the Planning and Zoning Board (term expiring April 2030). The mayor also nominated Kenny Hudson, Ryan Tracy and Jeff Zonewalt to three-year terms on the Historic Preservation Commission (terms expiring April 2028), and Matt Oliger to a three-year term on the Fire and Police Commission (term expiring April 2028). The mayor named Ron Robin Throneberg for a two-year term as city clerk and city collector (term expiring April 2027). A motion to approve the appointments was made, seconded and passed on roll call with the members present recorded as voting "yes." Council members noted it was good to have the council back to eight members after previously having 10.
The appointees were instructed to complete any required paperwork; the council did not attach other conditions during the vote.
