Broadwater County commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding on April 23 to serve as a fiscal pass-through so the Big Elk Divide Restoration Committee (BEDRC) can receive a $4,000 grant administered through the Montana Forest Collaborative Network (MFCN).
Commissioner Randolph summarized the item as a pass-through agreement and emphasized that no county funds would be outgoing. “It is a pass through. There’s no money from the county going out,” Randolph said. The contract period reported in the meeting runs through March 31, 2026. A motion to approve the MOU was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The county’s role will be administrative: processing paperwork so BEDRC may receive the grant funds for collaborative forest management support. Commissioners recorded no additional budgetary obligations in the meeting.
