Forest Grove board approves multiple renewals and contracts including phone service and field lighting

At its May 13 meeting the Forest Grove School District Board approved multiple procurement items and contract renewals covering technology services and athletic field lighting.

The board approved renewals for Panorama, the districtwide early‑warning and SEL platform, for $70,600, and Flashlight 360 (ELD language development platform) for $79,600 for 2025–26. The board also approved a recommendation from Technology Manager Ricky Quinone to award a new three‑year phone services contract to Comcast with a monthly recurring cost of $1,514 (excluding taxes and fees).

For athletic facilities the board approved purchase agreements under the KCDA cooperative purchase for Musco lighting: $470,730 for Neil Armstrong Middle School field lighting and $249,465 for Cornelius Elementary field lighting, both pending final city approval. The board and staff discussed neighborhood concerns related to lighting and encouraged community members to provide testimony at the city hearing for Cornelius.

Why it matters: These purchases affect district operations, communications infrastructure, and after‑hours athletic access in the community. The phone contract sets the ongoing monthly cost baseline for district telephony; the lighting agreements rely on city permitting.
