And as a requirement, the city commission has to adopt this ordinance,” a city representative said during the public hearing.
The ordinance was presented in a public hearing; no members of the public spoke on the item. The measure was moved by Commissioner Santiago, seconded by Commissioner Irvin, and passed on the roll call vote 5-0.
Commissioners and staff said the updates are intended to ensure the city's ordinances are consistent with current state law and modern municipal practice. Implementation will follow the usual codification and publication steps for the municipal code.
