Zach said the board can meet a quorum without Jason for the identified dates; Jason had proposed shifting meetings or trying Wednesdays for the short term.
Jason told the board the class is offered only once every two years and directly conflicts with the board’s fall schedule. He said he intends to catch up by watching recordings and asked the board to raise issues on his behalf if needed. The board discussed alternatives, including a short-term schedule shift and having department heads attend on different days, but ultimately decided to keep the current cadence and let Jason miss the listed meetings.
Board members encouraged Jason to contact Chair Zach, town staff or the town manager with any concerns after watching recordings. No formal vote was recorded on a schedule change; the board’s action was to maintain its existing schedule and accept Jason’s planned absences.
The board noted the town’s budget process begins in October and that department heads are prepared to appear at second- and fourth-Monday meetings if required.
