Council then authorized staff to apply for the grant. Staff cautioned that the grant requires a dollar‑for‑dollar match: any awarded grant amount must be matched by the borough's demonstrated investments (cash or in‑kind). Councilmembers discussed fundraising plans, possible use of in‑kind services (for example, police or public‑works contributions), and the desire to retain any leftover funds in the Parks & Recreation account after the three‑hundredth celebration to support future programs.
