The Tuscaloosa City Public Works Committee approved a $12,007.50 annual renewal with Alertus Technologies for the City Hall alerting system.
IT staff described the system as extensible and said it supports panic buttons, weather and tornado alerts, intrusion notifications and other campus alerts. Staff said the renewal is budgeted in IT maintenance and is consistent with last year—s cost.
Committee members asked what events the system alerts; staff confirmed it handles fire, network outages, intrusions and severe-weather notifications. The item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
