HLC approves new residential construction at 331 Apodaca Road with design conditions

Commissioners discussed whether Apodaca is part of the Mission Trail; staff confirmed that Apodaca is part of the Mission Trail historic area, which is why the application came before the Historical Landmark Commission. One commissioner compared the front elevation to a similar new construction on Socorro Road from three or four years ago.
Commissioner Rafael Padilla moved to approve the COA; Dr. Elizabeth Ponce Lugo seconded. Rafael Padilla, Dr. Elizabeth Ponce Lugo, David Estrada and Jesse Montelongo voted "aye," and the motion carried.
Staff reminded the applicant that subsequent planning permits and inspections are required if the COA is approved.
