The board approved a public disclosure under AB 1200 and ratified a tentative bargaining agreement with the district’s teachers’ local that includes salary schedule updates.
The public-disclosure step is required by state law before approving agreements with General Fund impact; staff said the document confirms the district can meet the proposed increases for the current year and next two fiscal years, and that the San Mateo County Office of Education reviewed the disclosure.
Tina Van Rapport, deputy superintendent of business, presented the public-disclosure analysis; she said the district will use reserve funds to cover increased costs and that the county office affirmed the estimates. The public-disclosure item was approved by voice vote.
Dana Lujan, director of human resources, presented the tentative agreement summary with American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Local 1481: the agreement includes language changes and a 4% across-the-board increase to salary schedules. After a motion and second, the board approved the tentative agreement.
The board also approved a salary-schedule revision for unrepresented employees to align with the AFT increase, and accepted a sunshine notice opening negotiations with Teamsters Local 856 (public disclosure of issues the public may wish to comment on).
