CAC told it may add member to FCPS regulations committee; volunteers sought for monthly commitment

At the start of the May 12 meeting, Celeste told the Community Advisory Council that she had received an email from district leadership indicating the Board and administration want CAC representation on the regulations committee.
“We would like to add a member of CAC to the regulation committee,” Celeste said, describing the invitation from district staff. Committee members discussed the time commitment and logistics: the regulations committee typically meets once a month via Google Meet from about 9:30–11:30 a.m., and will run approximately eight to nine meetings a year because the committee does not meet around some holidays.
CAC leaders said they will email all members to solicit interest and select a representative; staff emphasized that the regulations committee is a larger time commitment than the policy committee. Members who are interested were told they will be asked to commit to the monthly meetings beginning in August.
No formal appointment was made at the May 12 CAC meeting; staff will gather interested candidates and the CAC chair and staff will follow the selection process described in committee communications.
