Glynn County Schools spotlights GECA students, honors two employees for decades of service

The Glynn County Board of Education recognized two students from GECA and honored two longtime employees during its May 13 meeting, highlighting career-technical training, work-based learning placements and long staff tenure in Glynn County Schools.

Board presenter Miss Dozier introduced two student spotlights. Isaiah Green, identified as a GECA and homeschooled student set to graduate in 2026, told the board he completed pathways in welding, electrical and heavy equipment, earned two technical certifications in HVAC from Coastal Pines Technical College, and has secured a work-based learning internship with Gulfstream for the 2025–26 school year. Green said he has started his own business, Green Soft Washing LLC, and credited GECA teachers by name for supporting his work and skill development.

Carson Rosier, introduced as a Glynn Academy graduate in 2022, described completing the welding and machining pathways at GECA, serving as a senior classroom intern and taking a work-based learning internship. Rosier said he has worked at his internship employer for nearly four years and credited GECA with helping him find his career path and prepare for future goals, including teaching.

The board also recognized two employees for long service to Glynn County Schools. The superintendent read remarks honoring Kenneth Wesley from maintenance and warehouse for 35 years of service and Linda Brown, a paraprofessional at Glendale Elementary, for 50 years of service. The superintendent said the two staff members together represent 85 years of service to the district and thanked them for their contributions.

Board members and the superintendent praised the students and veteran employees. The record shows the board presented the recognitions as part of the meeting spotlight and did not take further action on these items.
