The Westfield Common Council on May 12 adopted ordinance 25-26, approving the Hundred 90 Sixth Street and East Street PUD. The PUD covers a little more than 12 acres at the southeast corner of 190 Sixth Street and East Street and provides conceptual layouts for office, warehouse and future expansion within the city's employment corridor.
Kevin Todd of Community Development presented the PUD and noted the property is located in the employment corridor/business park land-use categories of the comprehensive plan. The advisory plan commission reviewed the project at its May 5 meeting, waived the workshop requirement and forwarded a unanimous favorable recommendation to council, Todd said. The item was approved on its second reading by a 6-0 roll-call vote.
Staff clarified that a contiguous parcel across East Street that was discussed at a prior meeting is not part of the current proposal and will remain outside the PUD boundaries. The development team's representative, Matt Skelton with Church Church Hittle & Antrim, was present to answer questions.
What's next: With council adoption, the developer may proceed to detailed site plan and permitting consistent with the approved PUD; staff and the applicant will coordinate infrastructure and building permit timelines.
