The Whitestown Town Council adopted a resolution (Resolution 2025-14) on May 14 to adopt the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) comprehensive safety action plan the town completed under a planning grant.
Adoption was necessary, staff said, to be eligible for ongoing federal construction grant rounds tied to SS4A. Town staff told the council there is a current call for projects and that construction grant applications are due June 26; adopting the plan is a prerequisite to apply.
Council members indicated support for the plan; a brief exchange noted the plan is well done and adoption clears the town to apply for construction funds. The resolution passed by unanimous vote, 5-0.
Staff urged project teams to prepare applications for the June funding round now that the council has adopted the action plan.
