The ordinance, read by the city attorney, designates the offices up for election — mayor at large and a council member from each ward — and specifies polling locations for each ward: Ward 1 at Senior Citizen (816 Oak Grove Road), Ward 2 at Homewood Recreation Center (11632 Oxmoor Road), Ward 3 at Homewood Public Library (1721 Oxmoor Road), and Ward 4 at Homewood City Hall (2550 19th Street South). Absentee voting location and administrative details are assigned to the City Clerk’s Office on the second floor of City Hall.
The ordinance directs the mayor to post required election notices on June 10, requires the chief of police to reserve voter parking spaces adjacent to Ward 4 polling location while polls are open, and sets training and appointment procedures for election officials. The council approved the ordinance by unanimous vote and recorded it as ordinance 29‑37.
