Spring Point at Monroe Village gets board approval for new outdoor amenities — garden, pickleball and dog park

The Monroe Township Zoning Board approved site‑plan relief for Spring Point at Monroe Village to add outdoor resident amenities including a backyard garden with walking paths and a putting green, a patio and gazebo area with grills and a fire pit, pickleball courts and a dog park.

Spring Point senior‑community executive Jay Whiteman said the amenities were requested by current residents and are intended for resident use only; the applicant said the areas would not be open for general public access and would be used primarily during daylight hours and the warm season. Landscape architect Jack Carmen described the design as focusing on low‑height plantings, accessible paths and small‑scale “bio‑retention” rain gardens to handle stormwater from the new hardscapes.
