The Monroe Township Planning Board held a reorganization meeting in which members elected officers, adopted rules and hearing dates for 02/2025, approved minutes from Dec. 4, 2024, and memorialized a previously heard application, PB-1262 (Greenvest LLC).
The board opened with statutory notice under the Open Public Meetings Act that meeting notices were posted on the township bulletin board, on the Monroe Township website and published in the Home News Tribune and Cranberry Press on Dec. 27, 2024. Members proceeded to nominations and votes for board officers and professional appointments.
Nominations and elections: The board nominated and approved Mark Gaffrey as chairman and Dave Rothman as vice chairman. The board also nominated and approved Peter Vignullo as the planning board attorney, Center State Engineering as the township engineer, Mika Aki of CME as the board planner, and Laura Zalewski as board secretary. Each nomination was seconded and approved by voice or roll call.
Adoptions and minutes: The board moved to adopt the rules and regulations for 02/2025 and separately adopted the 02/2025 hearing dates. The board approved the minutes from the Dec. 4, 2024 meeting.

Attorney appointment for litigation: Members discussed a service of a prerogative-rate complaint related to a recent board decision and appointed outside counsel to represent the planning board in that matter. The complaint was described as having been served within the previous five days and delivered to the township the day before the meeting; the board voted to appoint the named attorney (recorded in the minutes as the attorney acting on the planning board for the litigation).
Oaths and professionals: Two professionals—recorded in the meeting as Miss Abdi and Mr. Grama Moitz—were sworn in so any testimony they provide during calendar year 2025 will be under oath.
