The change was recommended by War Memorial representatives to maintain continuity as the authority pursues state capital funding; a speaker said the board hopes the state will award up to $6 million but that the award was not yet confirmed.
Planning staff presented a replat for a 4.47-acre retail development behind the T-Mobile site off Shawnee, consolidating several lots into one; staff said the subdivision review committee approved it in April 2025 and recommended council approval. The committee also approved preliminary and final plats for the York Peak addition (about 4 acres) and the Fairway Bridge development (7.51 acres), both routed through subdivision review on April 29, 2025, and both intended for single-family residential development.
The committee approved the War Memorial ordinance and the plats by roll-call votes.
