Arvada resident raises safety concerns about traffic manual revisions and McIntyre project

Lynn Clemens of Arvada told the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners on April 29 she is concerned about proposed traffic manual revisions and how those changes could affect the 5950 McIntyre development and neighborhood safety.
Clemens asked why the county is proceeding with traffic-manual revisions now rather than waiting to bundle them with the delayed Together Jeffco project and requested clearer drawings of vision triangles used in traffic reviews. She said heavy trucks accessing the 5950 site require maneuvers that can block lanes and that such movements raise safety concerns for adjacent bike lanes and local traffic.
“I'm very concerned about these vision triangles with all of the traffic that's going up and down McIntyre these days,” Clemens said, asking the county to ensure community safety as new density and truck traffic increase.
Commission staff and Director of Transportation Mike Veneta were noted as available to follow up with Clemens after the meeting to discuss specifics. Commissioners thanked Clemens for raising the concerns and noted staff would follow up directly.
