Nate Paul, Chief Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office, accepted the recognition on behalf of Sheriff Parkinson and Undersheriff Nicholson and said Peace Officers Memorial Day provides the law enforcement community an occasion to honor officers who have died in the line of duty. He thanked the board for its support and said the recognition and flags at half-staff for May 15 are meaningful to the department.
Supervisors thanked the sheriff’s leadership and acknowledged recent losses in local public-safety ranks, noting the emotional and operational demands on officers. The board directed staff to fly flags at half-staff on May 15 in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
