Plumas County approves urgent hire for behavioral-health transport driver after staff loss

Plumas County supervisors on Feb. 11 approved immediate recruitment to fill a vacant driver position in the Behavioral Health Supportive Services program after staff said a second driver left following the prior meeting.
Sharon, introduced in the meeting as the Behavioral Health Services director, told the board “we only have one driver, and we need two drivers to fill the position for, basically taking clients...down to a psychiatric facility. So it is an urgent request.” Supervisors said the vacancy emerged after the previous board meeting and authorized the department to post and hire as soon as possible.
The board moved and seconded the item and approved it by voice vote. County staff said the position is funded in the current budget and the department would proceed with recruitment immediately.
