Plumas County supervisors approved an agreement to retain Shum's Cota Associates (Shum's Cota) to provide an outside plan review of the Greenville Rancheria clinic, with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $25,000.
Building Department staff said the county collected roughly $18,000 in plan‑check fees for the project so far and that the consultant proposal will likely run about $16,000; staff said the county will cover the cost and that plan‑check fees collected should be sufficient. The department requested outside review because its senior plan‑check inspector is preparing to retire and the building plans for the clinic include medical‑facility elements that require specialized review.
Staff told supervisors the vendor will complete an initial review within about 10 working days and subsequent correction reviews within five working days. The board approved the contract by roll call.
Ending: Staff said they will return with any required budget transfers and said the work aims to reduce liability and speed review of medical‑facility plans.
