Students will prepare eight pieces and perform at multiple venues; organizers anticipate an overall combined orchestra of about 200 members from multiple schools and an estimated audience size of 5,000 to 7,000 people at venues.
Martin said 28 individuals from Lincoln High School, including parents, have signed up so far. The estimated cost is approximately $4,800 per person, which includes airfare and meals except two; fundraising opportunities will be available to help offset expenses.
The board received the report as an informational update; no board action was required.
