Grand County Road & Bridge presented bids April 15 to upgrade electrical service at the Flying Heels fairgrounds arena and asked the Board of County Commissioners for direction to draft a contract.
Kay Schroeder, Road & Bridge, said R and R Electric submitted the lowest responsive proposal at $61,124 and is familiar with the facility. Schroeder said Mountain Parks Electric would perform transformer upgrades and planning at an estimated additional $25,000. Together the total remains below the project’s original $100,000 budget.
Commissioners directed staff to draft a contract routing form and proceed to legal and accounting review; staff said they would return a draft contract to the board for signature routing. Schroeder noted R and R’s familiarity with the site and the staff recommendation to proceed.
Ending: The board did not formally award a signed contract at the meeting but directed staff to prepare contract documents so the county can move forward with upgrades once legal and procurement routing are complete.
