Board approves nutrition purchasing cooperative renewal and modest student meal price increases

The board approved renewal of the district’s membership in the Wisconsin School Nutrition Purchasing Cooperative for the 2025–26 school year at a $300 membership cost and also approved proposed meal price increases for the coming school year.
Business-services staff reported the cooperative returns large rebates and volume discounts; last year the district received rebates reported as roughly $50,000 and large vendor discounts, including a new local milk vendor (Nasonville Dairy) that staff said will save about $10,000 a year and stabilize pricing.
The board approved increases to breakfast and lunch prices: elementary breakfast from $1.75 to $1.85, middle and high school breakfast to $1.90; elementary lunch from $2.30 to $2.55, middle school lunch to $2.70, high school lunch to $3.00. Staff said milk prices remain unchanged and some adult pricing adjustments were clarified in committee.
Committee members explained the changes are intended to cover food and labor cost increases and to stabilize the nutrition budget. The board voted to approve the cooperative agreement and the price changes.
