The Forestry and Recreation Committee approved a capital purchase of a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) for county forestry operations at a low bid of $37,320.92 from Duluth Lawn and Sport.
Staff told the committee the request was included in last year99s capital plan with an authorized maximum of $45,000. Bids were solicited from three local dealers; two bids were returned and the low bid included the options staff wanted, including a cab and attachments for carrying tools and signage. Staff said the county will purchase winter tracks to support trail work and winter operations and will switch to tires in the summer for routine inspection and maintenance tasks.
Motion: approve expenditure of budgeted capital funds to purchase the UTV from Duluth Lawn and Sport for $37,320.92.
