Arapahoe County commissioners approved a recommended roster of 10 residents to serve on the new 1A resident advisory committee, county staff told the Board of County Commissioners on April 15, 2025. The committee will review and monitor 1A funds originally authorized in the 2024 general election.
Danielle (last name not provided), a staff member in the commissioners’ office, told the board that the county received 35 applicants and completed 34 interviews. She presented the recommended 10-member slate organized by commission district: Janet Becker Wold and Philip McCart (District 1); Andrew Lansey and Luba Gilbert (District 2); Roberta “Robin” Shinki and Danielle Young Combo (District 3); Maya Wheeler and Vera Edam (District 4); and Edie Summers and Kirk Montanares (District 5).
Commissioners praised the applicant pool and the selection process. “That is a great list, and I will support those folks serving,” Commissioner Jeff Baker said during the meeting. Commissioner Jessica Campbell noted efforts to assemble a representative panel across ages, backgrounds and geographic areas.
County staff said the appointments will be placed on the board’s consent agenda at the next meeting, staff will notify selected members, and the committee’s first meeting is expected to be scheduled in May.
The board’s action was to approve the slate and move the appointments to the consent agenda; no individual committee duties or funding allocations were decided at the meeting.
