Disabled American Veterans seek funds to cover pet adoption fees for veterans

"We are looking for funds for at least 10 paid adoptions," he said. He said the Disabled American Veterans will collect funds and asked anyone who can help to contact him; he provided a contact number during his remarks.
Contreras said the program will require proof of veteran status at the shelter, either a VA clinic card or a DD-214. "We are gonna ask Laredo Animal Protection Society that they do ask for some kind of ID, either the VA clinic card or the 214 as proof of being a veteran," he said.
The committee did not take a vote on the request; the announcement functioned as a call for donations and volunteers.
