At its May 13 meeting the River Falls City Council approved multiple consent-agenda items related to economic development and infrastructure. The packet included a development agreement and purchase agreement with MegaChef Equipment Inc., and a resolution authorizing purchase of approximately a 2.8-acre parcel in the River Falls Industrial Park for $196,000 to support construction of a minimum 10,000-square-foot industrial building valued at no less than $750,000.
Other consent items approved included a contract for stormwater modeling and analysis with MSA Professional Services not to exceed $127,300, and authorization for a 10-foot-wide easement to Saint Croix Gas through a Woodridge subdivision parcel at a rate of $2 per square foot to be determined after gas infrastructure installation.
Councilmember Carroll pulled the 2025 directional-boring contract with TD&I Cable Maintenance from the consent agenda citing an employer relationship; council then moved and approved the remaining consent items (items 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10). Later, council voted to approve the 2025 directional-boring contract after Carroll stated he would abstain from that item. The record also shows one council member recused from item 8 earlier in the meeting.
These approvals set the terms for the MegaChef agreements and the industrial-parcel purchase; specifics of developer timetables, incentives and performance benchmarks will be handled under the development agreement and subsequent permitting processes.
