Historic Preservation Commission highlights projects; council proclaims May as Historic Preservation Month

M. Bernice Grimm House on Sixth Street and the G. Borer Freeman house on Fourth Street). The commission has partnered with the River Falls Public Library and Pierce County Historical Society on rotating exhibits and is finalizing content for an interpretive sign about the city’s bridges, planning a walking map, and inventorying historical items at the power plant for stewardship planning.
The council issued a proclamation designating May 2025 as Historic Preservation Month in River Falls and asked citizens to support preservation efforts. Mayor Dan Tolan read and signed the proclamation; the council also read related proclamations for Public Works Week and Economic Development Week during the meeting.
The commission’s update and the proclamation were informational; no formal council action beyond proclamation issuance was recorded during the meeting.
