The council unanimously approved two change orders related to the citys 2024 private-property inflow and infiltration reduction (PPI) program, both funded entirely by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD).
Council members voted to add four additional lateral repairs to the program and authorized an engineering inspection-services change order not to exceed $39,710 for Clark Dietz. They also approved a construction contract change order for MJ Construction not to exceed $210,400 to perform the additional lateral work. City officials said those additional inspections and repairs are fully reimbursable by MMSD and will not affect the citys capital budget.
The measures were moved and approved without extended discussion; council members noted MMSD funding covers the costs and that the work supports the citys ongoing sewer system maintenance and water quality goals.
