Paul Bull, staff to Representative Foster, told the House Community and Regional Affairs Committee that House Bill 126 would permit reinstatement of Native village corporations that were involuntarily resolved or dissolved. "This is the bill that would reinstate native village corporations if they've been involuntarily resolved or dissolved," Bull said, explaining the bill changes the process so tribal affairs within the Department of Commerce can resolve reinstatement administratively rather than requiring new legislation.
Committee members had no further questions on the record and Co‑Chair (name in transcript) moved House Bill 126 from committee with individual recommendations and an attached fiscal note; there was no objection and the bill was reported from committee. The transcript records this motion and the committee’s action without additional debate.
The committee’s action was to advance the bill; no administrative rules text or implementation timeline was provided during the hearing. The Department of Commerce’s tribal‑affairs administrative procedures would be the implementing mechanism if the statutory change is enacted.
