Crowley ISD reports rise to 85% CCMR; launches student ambassadors, medallions and weekly spotlights

Crowley ISD told the board on Tuesday that expanded efforts across academics, counseling, career and technical education and communications have increased the district’s College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) measure and created new supports to sustain that progress.

“We’ve been intentional about not just meeting the CCMR accountability standards, but creating that culture where every student knows what it means to be future ready and has a clear plan to get there,” said Dr. Grant, who presented the district’s Future Ready initiatives.

Why it matters: CCMR indicators affect graduation recognitions and state accountability. District staff said the district has grown from roughly 48% to 85% CCMR since November, driven by test preparation, expanded career and technical education (CTE) certifications, dual credit and data‑alignment work. The board was told the number continues to change as AP, dual credit, on‑ramp confirmations and industry‑based certification (IBC) results are finalized.

What the district is doing: Dr. Grant described a set of initiatives launched this year including a Future Ready ambassadors group of students who design peer outreach materials; a Graduating Future Ready campaign that will add cords and medallions for seniors who meet at least one CCMR indicator (students who meet the TSI/SAT/ACT testing standard will be considered “future ready distinguished” and receive a medallion); weekly “Future Ready Friday” social‑media spotlights; and a launch video that the district said had more than 23,000 views shortly after release.

Data and training: The district is consolidating multiple data streams into a single platform (CC Solutions, through Economic Mobility Systems) so counselors and staff can see all 13 CCMR indicators in one place. Dr. Grant said the district has done CCMR coding training for district and campus leaders, prepared campus performance reviews and will host a CCMR Institute for district and campus staff on May 29 and July 5. He credited collaboration across Academic Excellence, Counseling Services, Advanced Academics, CTE, Special Education, school leadership and Communications & Marketing.

Board questions and clarifications: Trustees asked how individual student plans are developed and tracked. Dr. Grant said plans begin in counseling advisement and are supported by departments that ensure students are enrolled in aligned programs (for example, CTE pathways, dual credit or testing supports). The district’s data platform provides a green/yellow/red schematic to show which students have met CCMR indicators and which need intervention.

Next steps: The district will continue coding training, weekly monitoring of CC Solutions data and outreach to families (the communications team and ambassadors will share spotlights and resources for parents). Staff said future ready materials will be shared at events such as freshman night and graduation will include the new recognition items. No board vote was required on the update.
