District leaders said the donation is intended to expand recess play options for students because some schools lack funds to replace play equipment. The announcement did not specify the monetary value of the donation, the number of balls per campus, or whether any long-term partnership or follow-up programs are planned.
The recognition was presented as part of the meeting's community partnerships segment and required no board action. The board recessed later in the meeting for guests to take photos and receive flowers.
