The Birdville ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously April 24 to approve personnel recommendations that included acceptance of 47 resignations, to adopt the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) policy update 01/2024 as presented, and to approve the full consent agenda.
Board President Chris Drees announced that Superintendent Doctor Stinson had accepted 47 resignations prior to formal action. Trustee Kelvin Dilkes moved to approve all personnel items as discussed in closed session and recommended by the superintendent; Trustee Brenda Sanders Wise seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously in favor.
On the TASB policy update, Trustee Brenda Sanders Wise moved that the board add, revise, or delete policies as recommended in update 01/2024; Trustee Richard Davis seconded. The board voted unanimously to adopt the recommended policy changes.
The board approved the consent agenda with a motion from Trustee Ralph Kunkel and a second from Trustee Joe Tolbert. The consent agenda included routine items and four donations the board had acknowledged earlier in the meeting: Foster Village Elementary PTA ($10,000 to Foster Village Elementary), Liberty Packaging ($5,000 to Thomas Elementary), Progressive Roofing ($5,000 to the BISD purchasing department), and Skeeter Kell ($5,000 to BISD athletics). All trustees voted yes on the motions.
