A precinct commissioner said the road has been maintained by the county and listed as 1.3 miles in the county inventory since February 2011; a landowner had asserted the road stopped at a cemetery and provided a 2005 letter, but the county noted tax statements and maps showing the road length for years. The county’s assistant district attorney was consulted during the discussion and the court concluded the road remains a county road to the gate.
A motion to set the county road length to 1.3 miles passed by voice vote with a second from Commissioner Chaikin.
