"We discovered tonight at 06:00 that the, special fund of the of the Forest Service has, donated $250,000 So you might remember where your money's gonna go, Right? That's how much money is gonna finish off this campaign. We now own the mountain for $5 The rest of it go to stewardship," the event host said during opening remarks.
Organizers said the donation will finish the campaign to acquire Mount Jumbo and that remaining funds will be used for stewardship. The host thanked Tom Webster and the UC programming staff for helping set up the fundraiser.
The announcement came during a community fundraising evening that included music, food and raffles. Organizers introduced the musical act Blue Moon Bangers and encouraged attendees to participate in the event activities.
