The Morrow County Board of Commissioners approved staff’s request to add additional town hall meetings for the county’s strategic plan and to adjust the project schedule.
County Administrator Matt summarized results from earlier stakeholder and town hall meetings held May 1–2, saying turnout varied by location and time and that the consultant team recommended holding additional sessions on June 10–11 (a Tuesday/Wednesday combination) to increase participation, especially in South County. Staff said moving the town halls will shift the planned retreat from June to shortly after July 4 and that the final strategic‑plan report is expected for adoption in the August–September timeframe.
Staff also said the process will keep the public survey open longer, distribute flyers with QR codes to residents, and summarize hard‑copy survey responses collected at senior centers and other locations. Commissioners agreed the midweek time slots should improve attendance and moved to approve the additional town hall meetings and schedule adjustments.
Staff said the additional sessions and a summary meeting with the consultant will give stakeholders one more opportunity to provide input before the county leadership retreat and final report preparation.
