The Coos County Board of Commissioners approved an appropriation of $18,000 in donated funds on May 6 to retain a part-time animal shelter operator.
The sheriff’s office requested the appropriation and said the funds are donated money and not drawn from the general fund. The appropriation will pay for a part-time shelter operator position to keep the shelter staffed while need persists, the sheriff’s representative told the board.
The board approved appropriation resolution 25-04-080-B and the motion carried unanimously.
Ending: The county noted the appropriation uses donated funds only and will help keep the shelter operational in the near term.
