City Hall renovation moves toward weather-tight phase; completion targeted spring 2026

Lee, a city staff member, updated the council on progress at the City Hall renovation project, reporting that much of the internal wall framing is complete, exterior backfill and waterproofing have been finished on the north and east sides, and electrical and plumbing work is underway.
Lee said windows are scheduled toward May so the building can be made weather-tight and interior drywall and finish work can follow. The elevator shaft has been extended through the roof and HVAC work is largely complete, he told the council. Construction on the east entryway footings and rebar began the day of the meeting.
On timing, Lee said the projected completion window remains March–April 2026. When a council member asked about budget impacts, Lee said the project has incurred a few change orders totaling "a couple hundred thousand dollars" but that the overall cost remains under the budgeted amount for the year.
Council members were invited to comment and the meeting moved on to the scheduled airport tour. No formal action or vote was taken on the construction update during the work session.
