Board approves school Land Trust plans; plans to forward to state for funding allocation

The Provo City School Board unanimously approved school Land Trust plans on May 13, authorizing the district to submit the plans to the state for the allocation of Land Trust resources for the next school year.

Sites explained that the board must approve each school’s Land Trust plan in a public meeting before the plans can be submitted to the state website and receive funding allocations.
Board member Meg Van Wagonen moved to approve the Land Trust plans; Vice President Gina Hales seconded. The board voted aye on the motion with no opposition.
Board members thanked school leadership and district staff for aligning plans across schools and said the process improved clarity and alignment of school-level goals and expenditures. The approved plans will be forwarded to the state for allocation of Land Trust resources for the coming school year.
