Commission approves school music donation, FBLA national travel request and childcare-provider proclamation

Commissioners approved a $1,000 contribution to support her travel and competition expenses.
Child-care provider proclamation: Mountain Heart Community Services requested recognition of Child Care Provider Appreciation Day; commissioners approved a proclamation designating May 9 as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day in Hardy County. The proclamation recognizes early-childhood providers’ role and encourages public appreciation.
What’s next: funds will be disbursed per the county’s usual procedures and the proclamation will be published and circulated to local child-care providers and partners.
