Casey Phelan, presiding officer of the Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees, opened the special session and said, “There are no public comments today.” The board then moved to convene an executive session, stating the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, chapter 551.
Trustee Nilda Sullivan made the motion to adjourn to closed session, and Trustee Bridal Davila seconded. After a voice vote of those present, the presiding officer called, “All in favor? Aye.” The board stated it was adjourned at 4:54 p.m.
Board members listed as present at the call to order were Trustee Kenny Fernandez, Trustee Marshall Kendrick, Trustee Nilda Sullivan and Casey Phelan. Trustees Bridal Davila and Paola Gonzales were described as “on their way” and were not recorded as present when the motion passed.
No substantive public comments were taken during the meeting’s public-comment period, and the board said it would reconvene in open session at the conclusion of the executive session.
