The Hardy County Commission appointed Steve Miller to the Hardee County Emergency Ambulance Authority board to fill a vacancy left by a resignation on April 1.
Commission materials said Doug Kaufman, who previously represented Wardensville on the HCEAA, resigned April 1. The commission reported outreach to residents and survey responses indicating interest in serving on boards; the applicant pool included roughly 20–30 respondents, though none were from Wardensville.
A county representative described Miller as a lifelong Hardy County resident and recounted a 1 hour, 45-minute interview held April 14, 2025, and recommended Miller for appointment. “I would strongly recommend Steve for this position,” the presenter said.
Commissioners moved and seconded the appointment; the commission voted in favor and the motion carried.
Action: Appointment of Steve Miller to the HCEAA board; motion carried at the meeting.
