SAISD canvasses May 3 election results; school board races and Proposition A certified

Under the certified totals presented to the board, the trustee results were: Single-member District 1, Bill Bridal (unopposed); District 2, Carla Cardenas (58.19%) over Geneva Rodriguez (41.81%); District 3, Dr. Kingman (unopposed); District 4, Amy Mizelle Flint (54.98%) over Samantha Swartz (45.02%). The board voted to approve the canvass of single-member districts 1–4.
For the bond election, San Angelo ISD Proposition A passed with the district totals reported to the board at approximately 54.3% in favor and 45.7% opposed; vote counts and percentages were discussed and corrected on the record during the meeting as updated figures were received from the Tom Green County Elections Administrator. The board approved the canvass for Proposition A.
Board members moved to amend earlier motions when final updated numbers arrived and approved the amended canvass by a 6-0 vote. Trustees emphasized they were acting within the Texas Election Code timing and procedure for canvassing May uniform election results.
