The Evanston City Council Referrals Committee voted 3-0 on May 12 to send a proposed responsible bidder ordinance to the Administration and Public Works Committee with a recommendation that it be heard the same afternoon.
The ordinance was introduced as the first item on the committee's referrals tracker. Council member Suffredin moved that the ordinance be forwarded to the Administration and Public Works Committee; Council member Newsom seconded. The committee recorded three votes in favor and no votes against, and the motion carried.
No public comment was received on the item during the referrals committee meeting. Committee members approved routine minutes for the April 28 meeting earlier in the session before taking up the referrals tracker.
The committee did not discuss substantive provisions of the ordinance at the referrals meeting; its action was limited to referring the item to the Administration and Public Works Committee for a hearing later the same day.
