Staff emphasized that box office purchases remain unaffected and that the amendment is intended to keep the village and its ticketing provider in compliance while maintaining revenue neutrality.
Ben (finance staff) said the change is primarily administrative and should be revenue neutral for the village and cost neutral on average for customers; the adjustment effectively moves several existing fee lines into one consolidated fee on the Ticketmaster checkout page. The rule was described as part of federal code and effective as of May 12.
The committee approved the amendment by roll call.
