The Terrebonne Parish School Board voted to authorize Superintendent (name on record) to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority and the Terrebonne Parish Assessor’s Office to address industrial ad valorem tax exemptions parishwide.
The resolution, presented on the superintendent’s agenda, directs the superintendent to execute the agreement on behalf of the school board. Board Member Matthew Ford said collaborating with the other local entities would broaden input and relieve the board of sole responsibility for decisions on some exemption requests.
The motion carried with no objections recorded during the public discussion and was ordered approved by the president.
