Faced with technical and security uncertainties, the council voted to table a permanent policy change until staff can test the fiber connection and arrange appropriate equipment. A motion to table the streaming policy passed on a roll call after four council members voted yes and two voted no; the council directed staff to pursue the fiber upgrade and return with an implementation plan.
In the meantime, staff will continue to post recorded meeting videos to the city website shortly after meetings rather than rely on live streaming until the technical issues are resolved.
